The challenge: Growth requires scalable systems
After the successful realization of an e-fulfilment center in Belgium, the same client chose to expand into Germany. The challenge lay in setting up a new location that would be immediately scalable and able to grow flawlessly with the increasing order flows. With thousands of orders per day, stable and automated internal logistics are essential to keep delivery times short and return flows efficient.
The solution: conveyors, sorting units and controls
An integrated approach was chosen for this project in which conveyors, sorting stations and PLC control work seamlessly with the warehouse management system. Orders are automatically recognized, correctly scanned, labeled and routed to the correct shipping location. The sorting line ensures that packages go error-free to the correct chute, while the conveyors enable continuous flow.
The entire control system is designed for reliability and flexibility. At peak times, the system remains stable and can easily be scaled up with additional stations or robot integrations. By choosing a modular structure, future expansion is possible without major interventions or downtime of the operation.
The result: efficiency and reliability
With the expansion into Germany, the client has a fulfillment center ready for further growth in e-commerce. The new systems shorten lead times, reduce errors and ensure lower operating costs. Standardization with the location in Belgium also creates a uniform way of working that simplifies management and maintenance.
